About Peter Stover
From the New York Daily Times, Feb., 10 1853: "Mr Peter Stover, a respected citizen of Pittstown, Rensselaer County, was killed instantly on Tuesday (2/1/1853) afternoon. He had been visiting in company with his wife and when returning home the horses took fright at the (railroad) cars, upset the sleigh and threw Mr. and Mrs. Stover out breaking the formers neck and slightly injuring the latter. He was a man of great respectability and was wealthy."
