Picture is the inside of the Thelen Roller Mills, ca1911. Picture shows Peter & Hubert Thelen. September 15, 1903, Peter & Hubert founded "Thelen Roller Mills" what would later be called Freeport Roller Mills and Swany White Flour Mills. In 1953 they celebrated their 50th Anniversary and although the company was primary guided by his son, Walter and a grandson of Hubert's, John, the brothers had kept an active interest in the business up until the time of Peter's death in 1964.
Peter was married first to Angeline Haehn, daughter of Peter Haehn from St. Martin. Angeline was born in 1883, she married Peter Thelen on November 20, 1923, Angeline passed away October 30, 1924. Peter married Minnie Bruning at Freeport on May 8, 1928. Her legal name was Philomina Anna, but they called her Minnie.
