Peter E Voigt

Peter E. Voigt, 69, 2890 44th Street, Mandan, North Dakota, died May 5, 2000 in a Mandan care center. Burial will be in Heart River Cemetery, southwest of Mandan, North Dakota.

Peter was born on Oct. 1, 1930 in Werner, North Dakota, the son of Victor and Madelene (Bosch) Voigt.

He was raised and educated in Werner, North Dakota, where his mother taught him first through eighth grades. He also attended Assumption Abby for one year and graduated from Halliday High School in 1948.

After high school, Peter ranched with his father and in April 1953, he moved to a ranch southwest of Mandan, North Dakota. On Aug. 25, 1952, Peter married Dawne Dahlen in Dodge, North Dakota.

Peter was very outgoing and had many friends. He liked to call his friends early in the morning to make sure that they were ready for the day. He was most comfortable and happy at holiday gatherings with his family. Peter was known as a cowboy at heart. When he was younger, he enjoyed horse breaking. His joy of being outdoors made him an avid hunter with hunting big game and birds. He was known in the area for his saw mill where he had rough cut lumber.

He is survived by his wife, Dawne, Mandan, North Dakota; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Arni and Bert, Pat and Bernice, Milo and Tammy, and Luke and friend, Tera Heid, all of Mandan, North Dakota; Owen and Becky, Helena, Montana; and Jay and Lynette, Bismarck, North Dakota; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Richard Clarus, Richardton, North Dakota; Valeri and Don Entzel, Mandan, North Dakota; and Becci and Wayne Braun, New Salem, North Dakota.

And 29 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and double cousins, Ramona Higgins, Roberta and Bob Bosch and many close cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
