About Phebe Mack
Phebe Miller, dau. of Nicodemus Miller and Phebe Huntley, was born Jan. 1748 in Lyme, New London Co., Connecticut. She married with ZOPHER MACK, son of Ebenezer Mack. She died Jan. 29, 1777 in Marlow, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire.
- It is noted that in 1776-1777 there occurred the greatest disaster that ever overtook the northeast---the smallpox epidemic which claimed many a life in New England. While we have no record of the cause of Phebe's early demise, it is more than possible that this illness was a cause. (Lyme Yesterdays, by James E. Harding, pg. 52)
