G. Andrews Moriarty presented the Additions and Corrections to Austin's Genealogical Dictionary in a series of articles in The American Genealogist. Volume 20 p. 115: "Giles was undoubtedly the Giles Slocum bapt. at Old Cleeve, co. Somerset, 28 Sep 1623, son of Philip and Charity(Bickham) Slocombe, who were married there on 20 Nov. 1621."<ref name="AustinAdds">G. Andrews Moriarty.
