He married to Anna Marie Anthon on 15 Dec 1877 in Mannheim, Grand Duchy of Baden (now Baden-Württemberg, Germany). They had four children: - Ludwig Christ (1876-1951) - Elisabeth Christ (1880-1966) paternal grandmother of Donald J Trump - Johannes Christ IV (1886-1949) - Philipp Christ IV (1893-1964)

His maternal grandparents were Martin Hartung and Christina Henzel.
