I leave and bequeath to my beloved wife all of my land and plantation whereupon I now live, also 5 negroes, namely, Titus, Ann, Jail, Bob and Dice, also 4 feather beds and furniture and all my household and kitchen furniture, except 3 beds which I do leave to my children, Lewis Gresham and Polly Johnson, one bed and furniture to each of them. Likewise to my beloved wife all of my stock of horses, cattle, sheep, hogs together with my wheat, rye, oats, and so long as she lives and after her death my will and desire is to give the said tract of land to my three sons, John, William, and Lewis to be divided to wit: To my son John Gresham the part where he now lives, beginning at Henry Owsley's corner at two walnuts, thence with said Owsleys line to a large dead elm in south line across the field to a drean (drain) that leads to my spring branch, from thence down the said branch to my old line including the land that I purchased from Painter and to commence at the mouth of the drean below my spring that I have divided for my son John Gresham from thence through the spring gate by the most north corner of my garden and apple orchard from thence a straight line to a corner between myself and John Denton where there is a small pile of rocks and each is to have an equal interest in the spring, Willliam Gresham is to have the part next to John Denton's and Lewis is to have the side where my dwelling is on the said land. Also to my son Job Gresham one negro boy named Jacob together with what I have already given him, to him and his heirs forever, then after the death of my beloved wife Mary Gresham, my wish and desire is to sell all the property to be divided between Uriah Gresham and Phillip Gresham's heirs to wit: Permeda Gresham, James Gresham, Harrot Gresham, William Gresham and Phillip Gresham these children to have their fathers eighth part, Betsy Johnson, John Gresham, William Gresham, Lydia Gresham, Lewis Gresham, and Polly Johnson, whereas the last named eighth parts are to be equally divided after settling with each other the sums I now charge them with that is: Uriah Gresham $180.00, Phillip Gresham's children $250.00, Betsy Johnson $470.00, John Gresham $300.00, Lewis Gresham $90.00, and Polly Johnson $310.00.
