Injury proves fatal after 3 weeks suffering.

Fatally injured by a fall that resulted in the breaking of his left hip, Philo Colony, one of Johnson County's first settlers, passed away last night at 9 o'clock at his home in Tiffin.

He was 80 years of age, and had lived in JOhnson County many years.

He was one of the organizers of the Christian Church at Tiffin -the noble little band of worker being housed by the structure that recently gave way to the handsome new edifice in which he took so much pride, although his terrible accident prevented him from attending the dedication.

His death leaves only his wife and William Boyd of Tiffin of the original organizers of the Tiffin Church.

Mr. Colony slipped and fell heavily 3 weeks ago, while stepping off a brick wall, and the injury above recorded then occurred. He never recovered from the shock.

The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services will be held at the homestead, and the interment will be in the Tiffin Cemetery.

Surviving are his widow and 3 daughters-Mrs. George Alt, Mrs. E.F. Hamilton, and Mrs. M Drake.

With these bereaved ones will sympathize a large circle of friends, old and young.
