I was able to visit the Archives for the first time in months, with some success. I found Lemuel's daughter Phoebe (at least, I believe this is the correct family). She did, indeed, marry a Wells. Here's the info:

William C. Wells, born Jan 1855, (in 1910 census, foreman at a lumberyard) Phebe, born Jan 1855. They were married 1873-1874. Children: 1)Edith, b. 1874 2)Maud, born Nov 1876 3)Mable, b. 1879 4)William Jr. born Apr 1881 5)Charles, born Oct 1883 6)Cordellia, born July 1890 7)Viola, b. Dec 1892

According to both the 1900 & 1910 census, Phoebe had 10 children with 6 surviving. Only the above 7 appear in the census 1880, 1900 & 1910. Either Edith or Mable died before 1900. The other five appear in the 1900 and/or 1910 cenuses.

Maybe William's middle name was Charles, maybe the son Charles was named after Charles Woods.

In the 1880 census, they are living down the street from Lemuel.

In the 1900 census, they are living near: 1)Alex McDonald, born July 1870, 29yrs, day laborer Catherine, born Oct 1873, 26yrs Grace I. , born Aug 1892, 7yrs.

2)William McDonald, born May 1859, 41yrs, fisherman Jennie, born June 1865, 34yrs, Mable, born Aug 1888, 11yrs.

1920 Neither William nor Phoebe show up in the PA Soundex. I'll need to look for them in Ohio, and then other states if they don't appear in Ohio. It would be worthwhile to track down their descendants.
