Phyllis A Wales Reed

Phyllis A. Reed, 86 of Battle Creek died on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Sunnyside Adult Foster Care Home after battling cancer for over 35 years. Phyllis was born on December 10, 1934, in Marshall to Kenneth and Genevieve (Casey) Pemberton. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1952. She married Buell Wales in 1952, and their marriage ended in divorce. In 1958, she married Clyde J. Reed in Marshall. He preceded her in death in 1980. Phyllis worked in the finance department for the City of Battle Creek for many years retiring in 1994. She also worked for Schuler's and Security National Bank. Phyllis enjoyed hosting gatherings and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed planting flowers and working in her garden. She is survived by her children Michael (Linda Morrison) Wales, Kim (Reed) Melvin; and a stepson Roger (Deb) Reed; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; close friends and caregivers Don and Cindy Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings; Tom Pemberton, and Sally Pemberton. A private family service will take place at a later.
