About Pierre Berthon de Marigny
The province of Poitou sent many excellent Huguenot families to America. Pierre Berthon or Berton, took the lead of the Narragansett colony, in Rhode Island. Louis Carre came to New York, and became prominent as a merchant, and as a member of the French Church in that city. Ami Canche was one of the settlers of New Paltz, Ulster county, New York. Charles Fromaget
