Pieter (29) a chicken farmer, was shot dead, and his pregnant wife Natasha (29), was shot in her leg.

Pieter, a contractor who worked on the D. Lund Farms Pty. (Ltd.) chicken farm, approx 15 km outside Pietersburg, was shot in his heart . He died in the kitchen of his farmhouse. The house is on the Lund estate.

His wife, Natasha, was in her shot right leg. She was about two months pregnant with the couple's second child. The couple would have celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary the following sunday.
