About Preston Bartoe Reeves

Preston was a farmer and a manufacturer of iron. He had one son, R.B. Reeves. He enlisted as a Lieutenant 1st Class in the Confederate Army and was mustered into the 22nd NC Infantry Co. F "Alleghany True Blues" on May 27, 1861. He was promoted to Full Captain on Sep 15, 1861. He died at Winder Hospital in Richmond, VA from gangrene and yellow fever on May 31, 1862. His body was brought back home for burial according to a granddaughter.
