Prior Anderson

Prior's brother George Coffee Anderson also had a son named Prior/Pryor and this causes some confusion between two men of the same name but different generations.

Lawrence Wilson Gambrell married Mary Margaret Anderson. Mary Margaret Anderson's father was the first Prior Anderson, the uncle of the Henry Prior Anderson. Prior married Mary W. (PollY) Duckworth, daughter of the Duck patriarch Benjamin Duckworth. Prior homesteaded land just North of the present home of Charlie Gambrell, and there was a place on the Leaf River which was named Anderson's bluff, may have been South of homestead in the Summerland oil field. Prior died before he was 50 years old and Mary (Polly) Duckworth married Benjamin F. Kennedy. BFK and Polly had no children, I think they both owned slaves and marriage was one of convenience to package children and assets if their individual estates.
