About Priscilla Beaulieu (Wagner)
More famous for her marriage to Elvis than her acting, Priscilla has nevertheless had a fair degree of success on both the small and big screen. Presley is the founder of Elvis Presley Enterprises, where she served as chairman of the board from 1982 to 1998, helping to turn Graceland into a multi-million dollar tourist attraction. As an actress, Priscilla is best known for co-starring with Leslie Nielsen in the three successful Naked Gun films between 1988 and 1994, and for her five-year run playing the character Jenna Wade on the television series Dallas.
Priscilla’s father was an Air Force officer and her family was stationed in Germany when she was a teenager. She met Elvis Presley in 1959, when she was fourteen, and he was serving with the U.S. Armed Forces. They began a romance, and she eventually followed him to the U.S. Eight years after they met, they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Daughter Lisa Marie was born the following year, in 1968.
Although their marriage didn’t last (they divorced in 1973), Elvis and Priscilla remained friends, and raised Lisa Marie together, until his death in 1977. Priscilla had begun to study acting during their marriage, and after a few TV appearances, she joined the cast of the hugely popular night-time soap Dallas. She won a Soap Opera Digest award in 1984 for her role as Jenna Wade Krebbs (1983-1988).
She starred in three Naked Gun movies with Leslie Nielsen between 1988 and 1994. In 1985, Priscilla Presley published the best-selling memoir Elvis and Me and produced the TV movie based on her book in 1988. She became the executor of Elvis’ estate, Graceland, in 1979, and proved herself to be a successful businesswoman, turning Elvis Presley Enterprises, of which she is Chairwoman and President, into a profitable business. In the late '90s she started a line of fragrances, and developed a line of clothing and skin care products.
In 2002, she was announced her intent to co-produce a musical theater production, "Elvis and Priscilla," based on her romance with the King.
Priscilla Presley has lived with Italian screenwriter Marco Garibaldi since 1984, and they have a son, Navaronne, who was born in 1987. She shares the joys of motherhood with Lisa Marie, who is raising children Danielle and Benjamin.
