- Rudolf Neurath, born on 17th February 1869 in Vienna, died on 14 October 1948 in New York, USA, was a professor of pediatrics at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna. He was persecuted on racial grounds in National Socialism, his Habilitation in 1938 was revoked and he 22 April 1938 removed from office and expelled from the University of Vienna.

Rudolf Neurath studied at the University of Vienna. He was graduated there in 1893 and received his doctorate 1903. Following graduation he spent his hospital service and assistant period at various clinics and from 1894 to 1897 in the Karolinen-Kinderspital and St. Anna-Kinderspital. From 1898 to 1918 he was head of a department of the I. Öffentliches Kinderkrankeninstitut. From 1918 on he was leader of the childrens' ambulatorium of the Wiener Arbeiterkrankenkasse. He was Habilitated for pediatrics at Vienna in 1913, becoming titular professor in 1927. He was also city physician for adolescents. In 1938 he emigrated to New York.
In 1902 Neurath had married Hedda Samek. They had four children: G. Herbert (born 1903), Otto (born 1905) who became physician, eventually in Los Angeles; Gerda (1907) who married Hoffmann; and Hans (1909-2002, Seattle).
Rudolf Neurath's work concerns to a large degree the neurology of child age, the study of puberty, and endocrinology.
