About Pte. Arthur Shaw
Arthur Shaw was born at Cave Hill Farm, Arrow Junction in Otago, New Zealand, on 5 December 1895 (reg. 1896/14928). His parents were William Shaw (1853-1934) and Mary Waddell Shaw (nee Frew) (1859-1933) who married at West Taieri in Otago on 22 December 1882. Arthur joined the Auckland Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, during World War I. He was killed in action in France. Arthur is remembered on the Grevillers New Zealand Memorial (bio by Debbie McCauley, 29 December 2022).
