Edward Arthur Poole was the son of Edward Samuel Poole (1861-1921) and Margaret Morrison Poole (née Arthur) (1865-1938) of Isla Bank, Southland, New Zealand. Killed in action, Somme. He was one of three brothers who were killed in action during World War I.
