About Pte. Edwin Luther Crossman
Edwin Luther Crossman was born at Martlock in Somerset, England, on 19 December 1876. His parents were Joseph Crossman and Mary Jane Crossman (nee Symmons) who had married at Bridgwater in Somerset on 12 January 1876. Edwin moved to New Zealand where he worked as a ploughman. During World War I he joined the Wellington Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion. Edwin was killed in action at Havrincourt in France on 13 September 1918. He is remembered on the Grévillers New Zealand Memorial.
