About Pte. Robert Blair MacLeod
Robert Blair MacLeod was born at Wallacetown in the Southland region of New Zealand's South Island on 18 October 1894. He was the son of William Sutherland MacLeod and Johannah Clark MacLeod (nee McIntosh) who had married in New Zealand in 1873. In 1915 Robert married Rubina Violet Miscall at Stratford. Their daughter Mary Emma MacLeod was born at Stratford on 3 March 1917. During World War I Robert served with the Wellington Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion. He was wounded in Belgium and died of those wounds at the No. 10 Casualty Clearing Station. Robert was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, [XXVII. DD. 14]. Rubina remarried to John Henry Jack Lister in 1919 and then to Clarence Edward Pepperell in 1942. Daughter Mary married Roy Revell in 1940.
