About Pte. Robert Francis Willis Wall
Robert Francis Willis Wall was born in Moturoa in Waverley, Taranaki, New Zealand, on 2 November 1891 (reg. 1891/13541). His parents were John and Annie Elizabeth Wall (nee Willis) who married in St. Pauls Church, Whanganui, on 30 April 1883. Robert worked as a farmer. By 1916 the Wall family were living in Tauranga. Robert enlisted in World War I on 2 February 1917, serving in the Auckland Infantry Regiment (Service No. 52516). His last recorded rank was Private. Robert was killed in action in Bapaume, France on 30 August 1918, aged 25. He has no known grave. His memorial is at Grevillers in France.
