About Pvt. Miller Woodson Ellis

Miller Woodson Ellis served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War in Company C, 18th Texas Infantry Regiment. He was captured by the Union on June 15, 1863 in Richmond, Louisiana during the Battle of Richmond. He was transferred to Fort Delaware on Feb 27, 1864. He died on June 4, 1864 from inflammation of the lungs while a prisoner of war in Fort Delaware. He is buried in Finn's Point National Cemetery in Salem, NJ.
