Rosa WESSELY, née WACHTEL: b. 21 Jan 1901, Tarnow - d. ?

N.B. Main motivation for this research was that the name of Rosa WACHTEL so frequently encountered as "author" of stories used for mainly early silent films produced especially in Austria - generally associated with the company called Rudo-Film.
Suprisingly it seemed that nothing was known about this individual. No attempts made at writing up even a short biography on this clearly very talented lady.
A clue could be found here:
pdf. report: RehaKo 07-02 Der Fall Rosa Wessely
Entscheid der Rehabilitierungskommission vom 5. März 2008.
In which Rosa's exact DOB and the names of both her parents are provided.
This then tallied with a 1935 Budapest marriage record.
But most importantly there are innumerable mentions of her in newspapers of the era:
- as screenwriter of various films being made or released.
- as author of very many articles about films in "Die Filmwelt" (1920s) and then Wiener Magazin (1930s).
A glimpse of her in a group photo showing members of the cast of the film "Lasst Eure Herzen sprechen ..."
