Rachel Stearns Welborn, b. 11 November 1795; d. 29 September 1841, was the daughter of James Welborn and Rebecca Montgomery Welborn. She married Newton Cannon on 25 August 1818 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Governor Newton Cannon was the first Whig Governor of Tennessee.
