Obituary, The Waterloo Region Record, 22 Oct. 2015: GINGRICH, Rachel Passed away peacefully at Martin's Rest Home, Elmira on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the age of 97 years. Wife of the late Martin Gingrich (1965). Mother of Cleon and Mary Gingrich of RR 2, Wallenstein, Mervin and Louisa Gingrich of RR 2, Wallenstein, Audrey Gingrich of Drayton, Leonard and Erma Burkhart of RR 3, Wallenstein, Lloyd Gingrich of Elmira, Paul and Esther Burkhart of RR 1, Wallenstein. Survived by twenty-six grandchildren and fifty-six great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Anna Gingrich, Hilda Gingrich, Ruth Gingrich, and Hannah Martin. Predeceased by her parents Israel and Lydian Martin, sons Elmer (in infancy) and Edgar (2009), three granddaughters, one great-grand-daughter, brothers Irvin Martin and Elam Martin, and sister Blandina Martin. Friends and family may call on Thursday (today), October 22, 2015 from 1 - 4:30 and 6 - 8 p.m. at the home of Cleon Gingrich, 7387 Third Line, RR 2, Wallenstein, where family service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 9 a.m. then to Olivet Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service.
