This is her obituary:

Mrs. Rachel Rittenhouse

Mrs. Rachel Rittenhouse, widow of L. W. Rittenhouse, deceased, one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens died Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jeremiah Miller, Grampian, where she has been visiting during the past eight weeks. She has been ill only about two weeks and her death was the result of a severe breaking down of her health. The deceased was aged about 78 years. She was born at Bellefonte, and was the daughter of A. Walton Bayard [Dr. Anthony Walter/Walton Bayard], has since deceased, and who for years was a practicing physician at the county seat. Since the death of her husband in 1887, she has been making her home with her children. She was a devout christian and had a large circle of friends who will deeply mourn her death. Surviving her are the following sons and daughters: Miss Annie Tregnoning, Philipsburg, Edward, Lewistown; George and Frank, Philipsburg, and Mrs. Jeremiah Miller, Grampian. The body was taken to Philipsburg for burial. Mrs. Rittenhouse was sister of the late George A. Bayard of this place.
