About Rachel Stewart

Rachel was a beautiful woman with red hair. She first married Henry Davis on November 24, 1825 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee. Their union produced 12 children.

Henry and Rachel joined the Mormon Church in 1839. In May 1840 they left Tennessee and moved to Raymos, Illinois (Near Nauvoo), arriving July 24, 1840.

In 1846 they left Nauvoo with the Saints and went to Garden Grove, Iowa, where they stayed a little while. Then they went to Mt. Pisgah, Iowa. While they were there, Henry became very ill and died 22 Oct 1847. He is buried in the cemetery at Mt. Pisgah where his name is on the monument.

Rachel arrived in Utah and married Benjamin Franklin Stewart on September 7, 1850 in Logan, Cache, Utah. On June 6, 1851, they had one child, Lucinda.
