About Rachel Worms
From Julia Weinberg Ensel Schor:
Rachel Worms was my grandfather (Joseph Ensel)'s second wife, I and Betty (Rebecca) Ensel called her "Tante." When my mother offered to take them out of Amsterdam to Blaricum in 1942,to hide them in her attic, Opa wanted to come, but Tante wanted to store her furniture and find a place for the dog "Fifi",and therefore told my mother to come back a few days later. My mother begged them to come with her NOW, but Tante refused. When my mother came back a few days later, the S.S. had raided the Jewish Old People's Home on the Nieuwe Herengracht and had transported all the inhabitants to Auschwitz.
