Rounsevell Mortuary records of Lead state that Rafaelo M. Pendo resided at 139 South Stone Street in Lead; born in Austria on October 6, 18611864; occupation - retired farmer; married; died on December 10, "1925;" age 61 years 1 month 24 days; buried in the Catholic Cemetery in South Lead on December 12, 1925.

Lead Daily Call newspaper, December 11, 1925 - "Last evening at 9 o'clock Charles Pendo passed away at his home in Lead after an illness from a complication of diseases lasting over a period of six weeks. Mr. Pendo was proprietor of a meat market in Lead for a number of years but about ten years ago removed to Wyoming where he remained until two years ago. Roffealo M. (Charles) Pendo was born in Austria, Oct. 16, 1864 and came to the Black Hills in 1886. For a few years he served upon the city council of Lead. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Ralph, Albert and Ferdinand, three daughters, Esther, Florence and Marjorie; also his father, one brother and two sisters in Austria; two brothers, Mitchell and Mathew of Lead. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Catholic church."
