Ralph Isaacs was married in Milford, Connecticut on September 8th 1761 to Mary Peiret, daughter of Peter and Abigail [n%C3%A9e Shephard] Peiret. This union was blesses with the following known children: Mary (1766-1769) Ralph (1767-1815) Peter (1769-1769) Grace {m. Ingersoll}(1772-1850) Abigail (1774) Sally (1778-1847)

Ralph Isaacs was engaged in the shipping business at New Haven and is said to have at one time owned thirty vessels. He lived at Branford where his home "Cherry Hill" was noted for its fine mahogany and other woods imported in his vessels. Like many other adherents of the Church of England, he manifested sympathy with the mother country before the Revolution, and on the announcement of hostilities, was reported to the Committee of Inspection for New Haven as a public enemy, and as such his movements were kept under restriction within prescribed limits until he took the oath of fidelity in January 1778.

Ralph Isaacs departed this life on October 24th 1799 in Branford, Connecticut in the 58th year of his age.

His grandson and namesake, the Hon. Ralph Isaacs Ingersoll, was Congressman of Connecticut from 1825-1833 and Minister to the Russian Court for President Polk 1846-48.
