About Ramon Revilla Sr.

Jose Acuña Bautista, better known as Ramon Revilla Sr., is an actor and a former politician. He is best remembered for his talisam-weilding movie characters. As a senator, he sponsored what is now called the "Revilla Bill", an amendment to the Family Code, enacted into law on February of 2004, that states "That illegitimate children may use the surname of their father if their affiliation has been expressly recognized by the father through the record of birth appearing in the civil register, or when an admission in a public document or private handwritten instrument is made by the father."

Jose Acuña Bautista, betterly known as Ramon Revilla, Ramon Revilla Sr, or simply "Agimat", was a Filipino actor, director and producer and former Senator of the Republic of the Philippines from 1992-2004. He was born on March 8, 1927 in Imus, Cavite to Don Ildefonso Bautista and Doña Andrea Acuña. When he was young, his father has passed away, so he grew up with his mother. Also, his mother gives him a business, a gasoline station. At this point, his career has start, when a producer and a director came to charge some gasoline, and they asked him to become an actor, then he agreed.

He married Azucena Mortel in 1960's and they had seven children: namely Marlon, Rowena, Jose Jr. (Bong), Princess, Strike, Andrea and Diana. He also had children with the former actress Genelyn Magsaysay. Their children were Ramgen Jose, Ramona Belen, Ragene Anne, Ragelyn Gail, Ramon Joseph, Ramon Joshua, Raphael Julius, Reuben Jesse and Ramlyn Gabrielle. Some controversy about him, was his relations and his children. The number of his children is unknown: Some says, 45, some says, 72, some says, 81, and the others says it must be more than 100.

Although, the exact number of his children is unknown, Revilla Sr says that he'd acknowledge all of his children. And the number of those whose use his surname is 39. The "Agimat" dies in heart failure in June 26, 2020 at the age of 93.

Many of his movies is under his production known as "Imus Production". He've been active in showbiz for more than two decades.
