About Randall Lee Redding

Randall Lee Redding, 64, a true patriot who had a great love for God and Country, passed away June 15, 2012 at his home in Saratoga Springs, UT, with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA and raised by his parents Albert and Nedra Lucy Hanson Redding.

He grew up in South Gate, CA where he received his elementary education and graduated from South Gate High School with the class of 1965. He attended Redlands College and Brigham Young University.

Randall proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy in their Submarine Service. Upon his discharge he was transferred to the Naval Reserves.

He married Anna Louise Cox in the Manti LDS Temple and to this union was born 3 children. She passed away April 28, 2002. He married Mary Christine Hoopes Gough in the Atlanta LDS Temple March 14, 2003. To this union she brought 5 Step Children and an extended family that grew to love Randy.

Randall was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a High Priest. He loved to teach the Gospel where he was called to serve as a Seminary Teacher, Gospel Doctrine Teacher and High Priest Group Instructor. He was called to serve a mission in the Oregon Portland Mission. He also served in the Sunday School Presidency and as Elder Quorum President.

He was a Machinist by trade and also worked as an Insurance Sales Agent. He was very knowledgeable about computer work and meticulous in math and the English Language. He loved to go camping with his family, watch movies, and attend the Temple, writing poetry and wood working and anything red white and blue.

He is survived by his Wife Mary Christine, Children: Aaron John (Alicia), Megan Jean (Craig) Laing, David Andrew (Susan); Step Children: Christine, Rick (Shay), William (Katie) Thomas (Liz) and John Gough and 22 Grandchildren. He is also survived by his Brothers: Rob (Cynthia) and Richard; Sisters: Alene (Terry) Rischer and Salli Munshaur. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Anna and brother Rex.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saratoga Springs 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 587 S. Saratoga Rd. Friends may call at the church Monday, June 19, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow in the Manti Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
