Davis, was born about 1915 in South Dakota. After Ralph's death Jessie married Peter Lepley Jan. 15, 1919 in Des Moines, son of Eli Manuel Lepley & Katie Cramer. Ralph and Jessie are bured in Miller Cemetery, Hardin Co., Iowa. Peter Lepley (1877-1943) is buried in nearby Sheppard Cemetery. Union. Dec. 26.—Ray W. Davis, son of Joseph and Arsula Davis, was born in New Providence township Feb. 20, 1888, and died of pneumonia following influenza at his home south of Union on Wednesday, Dec. 18 After his mothers death in 1894 he traveled with his father but spending the most of his early childhood with his grandparents. On June 26, 1914, he was married to Miss America Montgomery, making his home since then in and around Union.
To this union two children were born. Eleanor, 3 1/2 years, and Wendell aged 2. Aside from the wife and children, the father, Joseph Davis, of Oklahoma, one brother Dennie, of New Providence, and a sister, Gertie Sawin, of Union, surviving. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, who with Rev. Mr. Hickman, had charge of the funeral services at Miller cemetery.
