Obituary
Hopson, Ray C., 86, passed away November 19, 2010. Ray was born in Clearwater, KS. June 18, 1924. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict. After returning home, he graduated from Wichita State University and was then employed by Union National Bank. He graduated from University of Wisconsin graduate school of banking and retired from Commerce Bank after 35 years in banking. Ray was a thirty-third degree Mason and active in all phases of Masonry. He joined Bestor G. Brown Lodge in 1955 and served as Master in 1969. He was a member of Wichita Consistory and Scottish Rite Bodies – joining the Midian Shrine in 1962 and was elected the 77th Potentate in 1987. He was past president of Rolling Hills Country Club, North Kiwanis Club and Wichita Bankers' Clearing House. Preceded in death by his parents John T. and Pearl E. Hopson and brother Willard A. Hopson. Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; nephew, Bruce (Jan) Hopson; sister-in-law, Marcia Mozingo; nephew, Mike (Mary) Mozingo and niece, Valerie Fairchild. Viewing 12-8 p.m. Tuesday and Funeral Service 1 p.m. Wednesday both at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Midian Plane of Mercy, 130 N.
