Parents: Raymond Asher Ward and Olga Nancy (Maxwell) Ward.

After receiving his Certified Public Accountant degree from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) in 1947, he moved to Roseburg, Oregon where he and Dorothy Margaret (Daracunas) were married on August 5, 1950.

Four years later, they and their two children, Michael Raymond and Cynthia Ann, moved to Pomona Valley, California. When Mike and Cindy graduated from high school, Dot and Ray moved back to Oregon, first to Lake Oswego, then back to Roseburg, where they proceeded to have good times with old and new friends.
