

Joseph Johnston Cheatham served as a Rear Admiral (Supply Corps) in the United States navy. He was born in 1872 and served through the Spanish-American war. He was in charge of Mare Island navy yard during the 1st World War and was one of fourteen men chosen for the Brazilian mission to reconstruct the Brazilian state.
