About Rebecca (Rebecca) Springer
Rebecca Springer was a relatively uneducated woman, although she spoke Yiddish, Polish and English. She was an excellent cook, was very sociable and liked to play cards. During the Depression she sewed clothes for neighbors'children to supplement the family income which was very low. It was said that she could cook a shoelace and make it taste good. She was a person who adapted to all circumstances, good or bad. Despite spending her last years in a nursing home, she lived to the age of 97 with her mental faculties intact
