Rebecca Valerie Welborn (Montgomery, born October 25, 1776, in Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina to Hugh Montgomery and Catherine Montgomery (Sloan). She married General James B. Wellborn in 1793. He was the son of William Wellborn and Hepzibah "Hepsie Wellborn Stearns. General James Wellborn served 27 years as Senator; Colonel in the War of 1812 and Delegate to the Constitutional Convention 1835. M42 National Landmark.
