• In 1938, Rebecka Liwerant lived at the Pauline Stiftung in Laufgraben 27, Hamburg. She attended the Israelitischen Töchterschule im Schulhaus Karolinenstraße. As daughter of Polish Jews, Rebecka was not a German subject and was rounded up in late October 1938 and taken to the German/Polish border. She reunited with her mother and brother, Bernhardt, in Lodz.
