As a young boy I loved visiting Reed and Stella. They lived on River Road in DeMossville KY. Always something to do, go to the river, visit Annie who lived in the old log cabin just down the road a bit, go up on the hill and explore around where I lived as a baby. The old house was taken by a tornadoe a little while after we moved to Falmouth. I remember as a my Dad Luther going up to help with tobacco. I remember riding the wagon and helping with the to acco and was all sticky from the juice. One time while exploring the woods with my brother Luther and Johnny Sebastian, we were gone a lot longer than we planned. My Dad waited all the time his patience would allow. He told reed he was heading to my Grandma Emmy's (his mom's) and we needed to get there before he came back. It was a long walk back, but me and Luther walked the railroad tracks to town and then through town to Grandma's. Thought we would get our buts whipped, but dad just said did you. It's have a good walk. I knew he was mad and Luther and I thought about it every step of the way back. But he figured we had been punished enough with the walk. At the time I would have never imagined that walk being a really great memory. I think Luther and I grew up a little that day.
