'SERVED IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR, in 1777 he was in Capt. Samuel Camp's Company.
Rejoice Camp, son of Israel Camp and Ann Talcott, was b. Oct. 23,1759 in Durham, Conn., he m. RUTH PICKETT, b. Nov. 19,1759, Durham, Conn. She was the dau. of Benjamin Pickett and Adah Camp.
Children were: Ichabod (1781-1866), Rhoda (1791-1856), and Albert (1806-1872)
Rejoice d. Oct. 13,1841 in Durham, Middlesex county, Connecticut. She d. there Sept. 14,1824. They are buried at Durham cemetery, Durham, Conn.
Note: Discrepancies in the inscription date can be attributed to the change from 'old style' and 'new style' of calculating dates; which occured in the year 1752 and caused great confusion for a while.
