About Reuben 'Andy' Anderson
Reuben's nickname was Andy. Reuben was attending Macalester College in MN when WWI started. He entered the Army as a medic. Stationed in NJ Reuben met Sophie before going overseas. He returned from the war and married Sophie. He received his medical degree from the U of MN. He interned in Ancker Hospital, St. Paul, MN (now the Regions Hospital). He also interned in Hackensack, NJ. Reuben returned to MN to become a surgeon at the Mayo Clinic. After bouncing between MN and NJ, he finally set up his medical practice on Anderson St., Hackensack, NJ. He became head of surgery at Hackensack Hospital. With his own money created the Bergen County Blood Bank, which still operates today. Reuben was a very successful person. They never had children. They lived at 372 Maple Hill Dr. in Hackensack.
