Reuben was involved in the Lexington Alarm, and also served later in the Revolutionary Army. In the latter he enlisted in 1776 with his first cousin Michael Barber, and his brother-in-law Hosea CASE.
Reuben donated the land for the Canton Center Cemetery, across the road from his house, and became the first person buried in it.

Married in Simsbury on 2 Jan 1776 to Elizabeth CASE, b 26 Jun 1754, d 20 Aug 1846, daughter of Dea. Hosea and Mary (CASE) CASE; r West Simsbury, which became Canton in 1806.

2) MARY "Mollie", b 1776; d Simsbury about 1804; m West Simsbury ("both of Simsbury") 13 Dec 1798 Jonathan NOBLE, b there 3 Feb 1776, d Blendon, Franklin Co OH 28 Mar 1832, son of Elijah and Maria (HUMPHREY)NOBLE. Jonathan m/2 14 Apr 1805 Hannah BUELL, daughter of Solomon and Lydia (CASE) BUELL, and had 10 more children by her: Salman/Solomon; Zenas Tillson; Lyman; Lydia Mary; Myron Jonathan; Henry Miles; Elijah Sherman; Horace Jarvis; Eliza Jane; Mary. He and Hannah moved from Simsbury to Blendon in about 1815. Jonathan was a veteran of the War of 1812. He became a successful farmer in Blendon. Children of Mary and Jonathan, born in Simsbury:
A) Orrin NOBLE, b 14 Dec 1800; m Catherine Elizabeth PRESCOTT; r Blendon. He was a farmer and shoemaker.
B) Lester NOBLE, b 19 Jan 1802; m Emily HUMPHREY; r Tioga Co NY, and at Juneau, Dodge Co WI, where he died. A farmer and shoemaker, like his brother.
3) SADOSA, b Simsbury 31 Jan 1781; m Sarah CLEVELAND.
4) ELIZABETH, b 1782; m/1 West Simsbury (Elizabeth "of West Simsbury") 22 Nov 1803 Josiah HARRISON of Harwinton CT, who d 23 Apr 1805. Elizabeth m/2 27 Nov 1806 Zimri BARBER Jr.
