About Reuben Marion Melton, Jr.

Alcey and Reubin Melton were constantly moving. In 1828, they were in Gasconade Co., Mo.; in 1830, Crawford Co., Mo.; in 1834, Izard Co., Ark; Carroll Co. on Kings River- later area of Madison County. In 1850, Osage County, Mo.; and in 1860, Christian County, Mo. on Bull Creek, where they owned a considerable amount of land which was patented to Reubin Melton.

 1820 Census shows Reubin Sr. and Reubin Jr. Melton in Harrison County, Indiana.

Reuben Melton died in 1862, leaving a will in Christian Co., Mo. Will, dated 3 Feb. 1860, probated 28 Aug. 1862, Mo., Christian Co., File drawer no. 52. Allie died in November 15, 1869 and the estate was settled at that time.

Cornelius Bilyeau married (2) MALINDA MELTON71 01 Mar 1846 in Miller County, MO72,73, daughter of REUBEN MELTON and Ailcey McAdams. She was born 30 Sep 1828 in Gasconade Co. MO, and died Aft. 1880 in Miller Co. MO
