The Rev. Alex L. Hamilton, 68 years old, for many years a minister of the Church of Christ in this county, died last Thursday morning at 2 o'clock at his home near Harold, victim of a paralytic stroke. A son of the late Squire and Martha Meade Hamilton, he was born and reared in the Honaker community where he resided most of his life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Myra Halbert Hamilton, two sons, Felix Hamilton of Martin, Jim Hamilton of Mare Creek, and four daughters Mrs. Martha Steele and Miss Pansy Hamilton, both of Harold, Mrs. Vannie Spurlock, Hunter, and Mrs. Dolly Meade, Omar. W. Va. He also leaves four brothers and three sisters; Taulbee and Paris Hamilton, Nitro, W. Va., Bas Hamilton, Harold and Mrs. Lexie Ferrell, Hamilton, Harold, Dock Hamilton, Pikeville , Mrs. Ellen Moore and Miss Virgie Hamilton, both of Nitro, W. Va. Funeral rites were conducted from the Honaker school, the Revs. T.F. Meade and Roy Hall officiating.
