Had served previously in the Navy during the American War; Lieut. of the Conqueror; took part in Rodney's action of Apr. 12, 1782. Succeeded to the manor of Christ Church, Suffolk. Ord. deacon (Peterb.) June 29, 1791; priest, June 29, 1792. P.C. of St Peter's, Ipswich, 1793. V. of Tuddenham, 1796-1840. R. of Hargrave, Northants., 1797-1805. P.C. of St Margaret's, Ipswich, 1805. Succeeded his father at Christ Church Park, Ipswich, 1817. Married, July 18, 1793, at Hargrave, Harriet Deborah, dau. of Thomas Neale, M.D., of Ipswich. Died Jan. 9, 1840. Buried at St Margaret's, Ipswich. Brother of Claude W. (1779); father of William C. (1823). Pedigree in Cussans, Herts. (Misc. Gen. et Her., 2nd S., III. v. 281; Burke, L.G.; Al. Carthus.; Northants.
