

Bache Wright Harvey was was a distinguished graduate in mathematics from St John's College, Cambridge, who became an Anglican clergyman and in 1861 married Anne Sophia Turrell. With their three children, the Harveys emigrated to New Zealand aboard the Cissy in 1867, accompanying Bishop Suter and Richard Joshua Thorpe (later Harvey's successor at St Paul's). Harvey became vicar of Westport in 1867 and in 1871 took up an appointment as vicar of St Paul's Cathedral Church in Wellington. In 1882 he accepted the headmastership of Wanganui Collegiate School, where he remained until his death in 1888. He was buried alongside his wife and infant son in the Bolton Street Cemetery.
After the Bolton Street Cemetary was removed, Dr Harvey and his Wife Annie Sophie, are now is the grounds of Whanganui Collegiate.
