Murdock “Murchadh Ban”....
He married Catherine, daughter of Hector McSween, of Beaver Cove. Issue: — Ann, Bessie, James, Mary, Roderick, Mary, Archie, Ronald, and Lucy.
Roderick studied for the priesthood at St. F.X. University and at the Grand Seminary, Quebec, where he was ordained priest in 1890. He was Curate at Victoria Mines under the charge of his uncle, the late Father Archie, for one year, and another year at Lourdes where Father W. B. McDonald was in charge. His first charge was the parish of Arisaig, where he laboured for six years. The parishes of Heatherton and Grand Mira each received two years of his ministrations as parish priest. In the year 1901 Father Roderick was assigned to the parish of Iona where he has been in charge now for twenty-four years. In 1921, he was appointed Rural Dean for Victoria County.
