Lewis was the pastor along side his father at Reedy Creek until 1798 when they were removed to Logan, Kentucky

Next he was the minister of Muddy River Church in Russellville, Logan County from 1798 until 1812.

He was ordained at Reedy Creek church in Warren county, North Carolina in 1786 & preached twelve years there. He was also pastor of Sandy Creek church in Franklin county fourteen years.

He can be found in "A History of Kentucky Baptist"- J H Spencer.

According to Donna Sutiff, he was later in Warren County, Kentucky, Christian County, and Logan County, Kentucky, he was living next door to his son Elisha Moore.
