About Rev. Lucius Ellsworth McDonnel

Lucius E. McDonnel, retired minister and former employee of Ball Brothers, died at 9 p.m. Monday at the family home, U.S. 35 and the Eaton Road.

The son of Jacob and Ida McDonnel, Mr. McDonnel came to Muncie in 1900 from near Paoli.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; three sons, Clarence and Jacob McDonnel, Muncie, and Eugene McDonnel, in California; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Wolfe, Mrs. Rose Grice, Mrs. Mary Young, Mrs. Marguerite Coleman, and Mrs. Dorothea Jones, all of Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Newlin, Muncie; a brother, Adron McDonnel, Gary; 29 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery.
